Malta
adopts the Euro
With
effect from the 1st January 2008, Malta has adopted the Euro as its
currency, bring it into line with the majority of the members of the
European Union. The Malta Lira has been phased out and the
conversion rate is irrevocably fixed at Lm1 = Eur 2.33. The Malta
Lira is not a valid currency anymore but can be exchanged at any Maltese
bank until the end of February 2008.
